Pool Table Pocket Size Guide: Modern #6 vs. Antique #3 Irons

Use this guide to identify the correct replacement pockets for your table. Most tables use either Modern #6 or Antique #3 irons.

Note: Measurements may vary slightly due to hand measuring. These pockets are designed for use with 5/16 inch bolts.

1. Modern #6 Pool Table Pockets

Standard for the majority of modern home and commercial tables. All pockets on our site use this fitment unless specifically labeled "Antique #3."

2. Antique #3 Pool Table Pockets

Specifically designed for vintage or "antique style" tables. These irons feature a distinct bolt pattern.

  • Total Iron Length: 9 inches
  • Pocket Depth: 8 inches
  • Internal Opening: 4-½ inches
  • Bolt-Center (Corner): 6-½ inches
  • Bolt-Center (Side): 6-⅝ inches

Pro Tip: To ensure a perfect fit, remove one of your current corner pockets and measure the distance between the centers of the two bolt holes. Compare that measurement to the "bolt-center" specs listed above.
